Every mover is supposed to reimburse a customer for any damages at a rate of $0.60 per pound (weight of the object).
We will abide by this and increase your insurance to full coverage for any damages up to $1,000 for the move at no extra cost to you.
In case of damages, we will first repair the item at our expense, and if not repairable, we will replace or reimburse you for the value of the object or damages.
G & M Haulers Co insures each move with our basic policy unless you have requested and purchased additional coverage.
Certain items require an increased insurance policy, and it will be based on the customer’s request and the move itself. Depending on the size of the carrier/truck you have requested, you will be covered up to a specific amount while the truck is in motion from pickup location to destination. No extra fees are added and there is no signature necessary for you to be covered in our basic insurance policy.
Increasing your insurance will depend on how much extra you would like to increase your insurance policy.
Some movers consider how far they are traveling and factor it into insurance cost.
Both parties will agree to higher insurance coverage and its costs will be put in writing. To do so, just let us know in advance before the move. This will increase your policy from the basic insurance policy, which is standard, to the upgraded insurance policy for the specific carrier size.
Note: The amount you are insured is the maximum amount you are able to receive. With your insurance policy, you will receive the amount of the value of your items up to the maximum amount insured. Depending on the value of your items, be sure to agree on the correct insurance policy. If you are in need of a larger amount of insurance, please make sure to let us know.
In the unfortunate event where damage has occurred to the items being moved,
The carrier/mover is required by law to pay $0.60 per pound for reimbursement for damage or total loss.
G & M Haulers Co covers items two different ways. We provide you with our basic insurance policy at no extra costs and no signature is necessary. However, to upgrade your insurance amount we will need you to sign our insurance policy sheet and agree to pay the additional fee. We will provide you with an Insurance Sheet for information on your coverage plan for loss of items due to an accident while in transit/driving.
If damage has occurred due to our negligence or carelessness while we are carrying your items by hand, we assure you that we will cover the costs of the item to get repaired or fixed, or if necessary, we will purchase the item.
Please let us know as soon as possible upon noticing any damages; you will have 72 hours to report these damages under this coverage guarantee. Otherwise, you will be reimbursed at the minimum state requirements.
Please allow up to two weeks for us to work out arrangements for repairs. After we have made repairs, we will give you the contact information of the company/person who is in charge of repairing your items and they may work out a deadline with you. You WILL NOT be charged any fees for pickup or delivery.
